Plantation Shutters: Windoors to the world

In Focus: An iconic remnant of our colonial past, plantation shutters can be seen
in government buildings, colleges, and landmarks from our imperial past.
The construction is out of wood, With louvers that are fitted on to a frame, With dowel
joints. The dowels allow for the louvers to rotate. To this assembly, a tilt bar fitted with
louver clips is attached.

The louver clips have been out of production for the past 20 odd years, so we fabricated our
own louver clips. Plantation shutters are great for achieving cross ventilation, at the same
time retaining the sense of security.

At same time, the living/dining spaces become the point of that confluence. A cross cultural
meeting ground, for the globalism.
